Maxine "Mickie" Brumbaugh Wile, 62 of Boone formerly of Pomeroy, passed from this world after a long and courageous battle with ALS, on July 12, 2011. She is survived by her two daughters, Melissa and Michelle, and two Grandchildren, Grant and Brooke, all of Boone. Also survived by her two sisters, Earla (Gene) Triplett of Battle Creek, Sandy (Ron) Denney of Sac City and brother Earl (Scott) of Lohrville, father-in-law, Melvin (Margueritte) Wile of Ft. Dodge, sisters-in-law Pat (Jerry) Kiolbasa of Damascus, OR, Colleen (Gary) Hohn of Sioux Falls, SD and brother-in-law Dean Wile of College Station, TX. Mickie was born on July 18, 1948 in Lake City, Iowa, and grew up in Rockwell City. She graduated from Rockwell City High School in 1966, after which she went to Cosmetology School in Des Moines. She then married Milt Wile on October 16, 1971 and they eventually returned to the Pomeroy area in 1981 to raise their family and farm. She was a loyal employee at HyVee in Fort Dodge for 13 years, and also ran her own catering company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milt, and parents, Earl and Evelyn Brumbaugh of Rockwell City. Mickie enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and grandkids, reading, quilting and playing slot machines. She was a good friend to many and will be missed by all.
