Obituary – Mrs. Elmo Hinkley
Katherine Hamilton Hinkley was born at Traer, Ia., Dec 19, 1876. After a lingering illness she passed away at her home two miles southwest of Rockwell City the evening of June 23. In 1880 she moved with her parents to Carroll County where they settled on a farm three miles east of Lanesboro. Here she grew to womanhood and on Feb. 6, 1905 she was united in marriage to Elmo Hinkley. They located on a farm near Lanesboro where they resided until about six years ago when they moved to a farm near Jolley. This spring they moved to the old Robert Moore farm southwest of Rockwell City, where the family now resides. Two sons and three daughters came to bless this home: John Dwight, who died in infancy, Warren Hinkley, of Rockwell City, Mrs. Leta Marks, Miss Olive and Miss Ruth, who reside at home. Besides these and her husband, Elmo Hinkley, she is mourned by two sisters and one brother; Mrs. Minnie Harshbarger of Lanesboro, Mrs. Fred Collicott of Lohrville and Henry Hamilton of Lanesboro. Also two grandchildren, Joan and Jean Marks, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Hinkley was a faithful wife and devoted mother, a woman of fine personality, loved and respected by all who knew her. For many years a member of the Methodist Church, she was always faithful and true to her religious convictions.
