Gladys Eileen Kramer
(December 11, 1932 - November 5, 2009)

Gladys Kramer, age 76, of Pomeroy, passed away on November 5, 2009, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital. Gladys Eileen Hoffman was born on December 11, 1932, at Carroll. She was the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Vicarius) Hoffman. On June 26, 1951, Gladys married Leon Kramer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield, MN. The couple farmed in Minnesota for six years before moving to Fonda, where they continued to farm until their retirement in 1993. They couple then made their home in Pomeroy. Gladys was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, golfing, walking and was a fantastic cribbage player. Gladys will be fondly remembered by family and friends as having an adventuresome spirit and yet being very content with the simple joys of life. Survivors include her husband: Leon; children: Dwight (Zoeann) Kramer of Ames, Susan Kramer of Pine River, MN, Debbie (David) Lynn of Osceola, David (Pam) Kramer of St. Joseph, MO, Mary Kay (Walt) Olsen of Council Bluffs, Joseph Kramer of Brainerd, MN and Tony (Carol) Kramer of Brainerd, MN; sixteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister: Colleen Jacobson of Albert Lea, MN and brothers, Milton (Diane) Hoffman of Rochester, MN and Glenn (Bessie) Hoffman of Tucson, AZ. Gladys was preceded in death by her son, William, who died in infancy, her parents, sisters, Carol Jean and Vivian and brother, Dale.
