Olga Linnea Peterson
(February 13, 1915 - July 12, 2009)

Olga L. Peterson - age 94, passed away on July 12, at the Pomeroy Care Center. Olga Linnea Johnson was born on February 13, 1915, in Pocahontas County. She was the daughter of Emil and Anna Johnson. Olga graduated from Palmer High School. She worked as an operator for the Palmer Telephone Company until her marriage. On April 21, 1950, she married Alvin Behrens at Elfsborg. Alvin passed away in 1966. On February 23, 1987, Olga Married Orville Peterson at Elfsborg. The couple entered the Pomeroy Care Center in January of 1996. Orville passed away on April 10, 2002, and Olga has continued to make her home at the care Center. Olga was a lifelong member of Elfsborg Lutheran Church, having been Baptized and Confirmed there. She held various church offices, taught Sunday School and confirmation classes and belonged to the WELCA. Olga belonged to the Chatter Club and enjoyed doing handy and needlework. She especially loved babysitting for area families. Survivors include her step-children: Elwood ("Woody) (Karan) Peterson of Lake Tahoe, NV, Carol Becker of Yankton, SD and Eileen (Larry) Lundeen of Pomeroy.
