Mabel Louise Doyen
(March 3, 1951 - June 26, 2009)

Mabel L. Doyen age 88, passed away on June 26, 2009, at the Pomeroy Care Center. Mabel Louise Blomberg was born on March 3, 1921, in Pocahontas County. She was the daughter of Emil and Helena (Rosendahl) Blomberg. She was Baptized, Confirmed and married at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.Mabel was educated in Pocahontas, graduating from Pocahontas High School in 1939. On September 12, 1942, Mabel married Harold G. Doyen at Pocahontas. The couple farmed near Pomeroy until 1965, when they moved to their farm near Manson. Harold passed away on November 15, 1988, and Mabel continued to live on the farm until 2001, when she moved to Manson. She entered the Pomeroy Care Center in February of 2008. Mabel was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, having taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a choir member and a former officer in the WELCA. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and tending her garden in her spare time. Survivors include her children: Janet Stoulil and John (Tana) Doyen, both of Manson; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and sisters, Viola Lee of Raleigh, NC, Elsie Rossiter of Spencer and Charlene Anderson of Goldfield. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold, sisters, Lillian DeYoung and Loretta Blomberg and brothers, Ernie, Elmer, Charles and Robert Blomberg.
