(May 15, 1936 - April 30, 2009)

Jodi A. Roese - age 72, of Pomeroy, passed away on April 30, 2009, at Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge. Joyce "Jodi" Anne Mitchell was born on May 15, 1936, in Grinnell. She was the daughter of Frank and Olga (Stout) Mitchell. She graduated from Grinnell High School and the American Institute of Business. On July 10, 1955, Jodi married Don Roese in Grinnell. The couple has made their home in Pomeroy since 1957. Jodi worked in Rockwell City for Dr. Kalkwarf and Dr. Underriner for over nineteen years. Jodi was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, having taught Sunday School and serving on the Altar Guild. She enjoyed reading, golfing, dancing and Swedish weaving. Her specialty was nurturing roses and Roeses. Survivors include her husband D. W. Roese, children: Pam (Steve) Wilcox Vacaville, CA, Steve (Susan) Roese of Johnston, Lisa (Glenn) Ware of Highlands Ranch, CO and Mitch (Beth) Roese of Newton; grandchildren: Amy, Beth, Scott and Alex; sisters: Janet (Neil) Murphy of Sun Lakes, AZ and Gelene (Fred) Jonasz of Arlington, VA and stepmother, Lou Mitchell of Mesa, AZ.
