Obituary - Mrs. W. W. Ehler
Alice Easter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Easter, was born July 11, 1861 in Champaign, Ill. She was the oldest of a family of eight children. Those living are Mrs. George Kock, Mrs. Etta Collins, Mrs. Nora Dalter, Champaign, Ill., Mrs. Cora Doughty, Los Angeles, Cal., and Ora of Edmund, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to W. W. Ehler, Champaign, Ill., April 6, 1880. To this union nine children were born all of whom are living to mourn her death. They are John and Walter of Champaign, Ill., George of Corwith, Iowa, Mrs. J. E. Ryan of Rockwell City, Mrs. Douglas Tibbits of Boyne City, Mich., Mrs. Fred Sperry of Jolley, William of Champaign, Ill., Henry at home and Della of Des Moines. There were 34 grandchildren, two of whom preceded her in death. One of them, Hazel Ehler, has made her home with her grandmother for the past three and one-half years. There are also four great grandchildren. Mrs. Ehler was converted in the winter of 1879 and baptized in the spring of 1880 and united with the United Brethern Church of Blue Mound, Ill. She later united with the Free Methodist Church of Urbana, Ill., in 1892. She was a regular attendant there until she moved with her family to Rockwell City in March 1917. Since that time owing to poor health, she has been a regular listener to services broadcasted over the radio which have been a great inspiration to her in late years. Her great faith in God has carried her through life and sickness and death. Source - Rockwell City Advocate & Calhoun County Republican, Rockwell City, Iowa, Thurs., Dec 14, 1933, p.4
