Obituary
Oscar Thomas Ellis was born in DeKalb County, Kan., Jan. 26, 1881. When a child he moved with his parents to Missouri where he lived until 21 years of age, after which he moved to Calhoun County. He was united in marriage to Miss Effie Speiss, March 8, 1905. To this union were born six children, five boys and one girl. They lived in this vicinity for 10 years, then they moved to Terril where they lived for four years. While in Terril, Mr. Ellis united with the Methodist Church where he and his family were faithful attendants. He and his family then moved to Gibbons, Minn., where they lived for five years, returning to Jolley the next year on account of Mr. Ellis’ illness. He was taken to the hospital at Cherokee eight years ago from which place he passed away Friday, Oct. 13, at the age of 52 years, 8 months and 18 days. Mr. Ellis leaves to mourn his departure his wife, daughter, Mrs. Grace Dahlke, his five sons, Claus Oscar, Lloyd, Kenneth, and Delmar, one brother and seven sisters and other relatives as well as a host of friends.
