Obituary
Earl Howe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milo B. Howe, was born in Harlan, Shelby County, Iowa, on March 16, 1880, and passed away at his home in Lake City, Iowa, at 6:10 p.m. June 10, 1933. He had reached the age of 53 years, 2 months and 24 days. Mr. Howe, with his parents, came to Calhoun County when he was about 12 years of age. He went to its public schools and made many friends. He made the confession of his faith in Jesus Christ when a boy and became a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Howe was united in marriage to Stella Cotes at Rockwell City, Iowa, March 16, 1910. To this union were born four children, Mrs. Clifford Lawson, Lillian, Frances and Clyde Howe, all of Lake City. Earl’s mother passed away February 2, 1910. Mr. Howe, while in Rockwell City, worked in the store and on coming to Lake City, clerked in the local stores there.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and the four children: his father, Milo B. Howe of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; four brothers and three sisters, Guy Howe of Lincoln, Nebraska, Floyd Howe of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Mrs. Hiliary J. Miles, Kansas City, Missouri, E. L. Perry Howe of Newport, Washington, Mrs. Charles H. Bauman, Mrs. Lew Hanks and Dewey J. Howe of Lake City, Iowa; one grandchild, eleven nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the cemetery Tuesday afternoon, June 13, 1933. Rev Roy H. Weakland, pastor of the Church of Christ, was in charge of the services. Interment in the Lake City Cemetery.
