William Lincoln Gist
(August 9, 1864 – October 30, 1934)

Obituary
William Lincoln Gist, son of Hiram and Mary Gist, was born August 9, 1864, in Union City, Ind., and when a lad of 15 years journeyed to Greene County, Iowa with his parents in a covered wagon. Since about the year of 1880 his home has been in or near Lake City. He was married to Miss Ella Harrison Dec. 24, 1891. He leaves his wife and two children, Mrs. Jesse Moulds of Lake City, and Justice Gist of Chicago, four grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Lida Daisy of Lake City and Mrs. Ona Thrasher of Madison, Wis., other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral was Thursday afternoon at the Woodlawn Church of Christ. The Rev. Roy B. Weakland had charge of the service. Burial was in the Lake City Cemetery. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Justice Gist of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs.Godby and son, and Mrs. Wilson of Earlham, Mrs. Mat Gist and son of Inland, Mr. Evert Rider of Waltham, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Rider and son of Scranton, Mrs. George Mishler of Sioux Falls, S. D., Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Cochran of Churdan, Mrs. Ella Hagerman and grandchildren of Glidden, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Richards, Amos Dillivon and family, all of Greene County, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Blackley of Ralston.
