Obituary – Mrs. James Wood
Elizabeth Agnes Kruchten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kruchten, was born west of Pomeroy Feb 22, 1870, one of a family of nine children. Her parents were pioneer settlers of this community. On May 10, 1899 she was united in marriage to James Wood and to this union seven children were born, all of whom survive their mother. Mr. and Mrs. Wood spent most of their married life in this community, with the exception of a few months in Montana and several years in Minnesota, when they lived at Morgan. Three years ago they returned to Pomeroy where they have since made their home. Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband, four sons, Edward and Robert of Pomeroy, James of Milwaukee, Wis., and Clark Wood of Morgan, Minn., and three daughters, Mrs. Mayme Wenzel, Mrs. Pearl Wenzel and Mrs. Rose Dodge, all of New Richland, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. C. L. Drommer, Mrs. Mary Doyle of Pomeroy, and Mrs. Vincent Fuchs of Fonda; two brothers, John Kruchten of Fonda, Sylvester Kruchten of Pomeroy. Two brothers, Ed and James and one sister, Mrs. Henry Kruel, and her parents preceded her in death.
