Obituary – Mrs. Loyal D. Brock
Lake City – Funeral services for Mrs. Loyal D. Brock, 27, who died Dec. 20, were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Church, the Rev. F. F. Robinson officiating. Burial was made in Lake City Cemetery. Veda Violet Brock, daughter of Guy and Sylvia Stout, was born on the home farm north of Lake City Dec. 16, 1911. During the four years of her high school education, she participated in the various activities of the school, especially in the work of Glee Club and the Girl Reserves. She was graduated with the class of 1931. On June 7, 1931 she was united in marriage to Loyal David Brock of Lake City. To them were born two children, Gaylord, 6, and Darwin, 2. She was received from the class of preparation into the membership of the Methodist Church in Lake City, on June 22, 1924, and took an active part in the church’s organization. Death came to her on the evening of Dec 20 at the home of her parents. Besides her parents, her husband and two children, she leaves two sisters, Virginia Katherine and Dorothy Jane, one brother, Bernard, her grandmother, Mrs. Hattie Stout of Lake City, and a number of other relatives and friends. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death, Harlan, who died in infancy, Elton in 1930 and Zora Belle in 1935.
