(April 17, 1950 - December 31, 2023)

Anne M. Schoon, age 73, of Humboldt, formerly of Pomeroy, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Anne Marie Schoon was born on April 17, 1950, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Catherine (Buck) Schoon. She graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1969. Anne lived in Pomeroy before moving to Des Moines where she worked in manufacturing for several years. In the late 1980’s she returned to Pomeroy and worked as a Nurses Aid at the Pomeroy Care Center. Anne married Larry Derry in 2012. She retired from the care center in 2012. Larry passed away in 2013 and Anne continued to make her home in Pomeroy. In 2020, Anne moved to Humboldt. Anne was a member of the Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening. Survivors include her son, Mark (Sara) Schoon of Weston, Missouri; two grandchildren, Blake and Emma Schoon; brothers, Gene (Karen) Schoon of Manson and James (Diane) Schoon of Des Moines and a sister, Eva (William) Horstman of Des Moines. Anne was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Tammy; brothers, Glen Schoon, Gary Schoon and Roy Schoon and a sister, Joyce Becker.
