Dick Morris, the son of Darwin and Eola (Cram) Morris, was born May 23, 1928 on the family farm southwest of Lohrville, Iowa and departed this life February 27, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He lived his life to the age of 82 years, 9 months and 4 days.
Dick graduated from the Lohrville High School in 1946. On September 4, 1949, Dick was united in marriage to Betty Beidler at the Lutheran Church in Lidderdale. Three children were born to this union. Dick farmed near Lohrville until his retirement. He and Betty enjoyed many trips by car and trailer. In 1998, they moved to Lake Panorama and wintered in Mesa, Arizona for 33 years, where they made many friends. Dick enjoyed playing golf, boating, fishing and playing cards.
Dick was a loyal member of the Lohrville United Methodist Church and served many years on the church board. He was a fifty year member of Nekoda Masonic Lodge and had served as Worshipful Master. He was also a fifty year member of Deborah Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty; daughters, Joen Larson (Duane) of Comanche and Jolene Morris of Mesa, Arizona; one son, Eugene (Melissa) of Lohrville; a sister, Doris Pugh (Raymond) of Johnston, Iowa, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Darrell and a foster brother, Dean Perry.
