LITTLE GIRL KILLED.

Nine Year Old Lavina Fitzgerald,
Living Near Manson,
Victim of a Fall

Manson, Oct. 26. - Miss Lavina Fitzgerald, the nine year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Fitzgerald, living five miles south-west of Manson, met death Wednesday afternoon in a very strange manner, her lifeless body not being discovered for some time after death had ensued. She had attended school in the afternoon at the Skinner school house and had started for her home when she remembered that she had left her umbrella in the school house, the weather of yesterday being threatening. She returned to the school house and finding that she couldn't enter by the door which was locked, tried the windows on the side of the building and finding one which she could raise, did so and entered. She soon found her umbrella and started to get out by the same means she had entered and it was while doing so that she came to her death. The windoe had evidently not been securely fastened during her entrance and while she was returning to the out side fell, striking her on the back of the neck. She was found about dark in a hanging positon by someone who was passing by the school house, life being extinct and body cold. Whether the blow received from the fall of thewindow stunned her and rendered her unconscious and death resulted from strangulation, or she was not strong enough to raise the window in her awkward position is not known
