LOCAL MAN IS DEAD AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Frank Masterson, aged 58 years, and a resident of Calhoun county for thirty-three years, died at his home in Rockwell City yesterday morning at 6:20 o'clock. Death was due to creeping paralysis, from which Mr. Masterson had been a sufferer for four years.

During the last eight weeks, Mr. Masterson had been confined to his bed, his condition gradually growing worse. He rallied several times, but in spite of the best care and attention, succumbed to the inevitable Wednesday morning.

Mr. Masterson was born at Big Rock, Illinois, on January 1, 1865. When he was 23 years of age, he moved to Calhoun county and settled on a farm near Manson. Later, he went to Piper as manager of the elevator there serving in that capacity for ten years. The family moved to Rockwell City a year ago last July.

Mr. Masterson is survived by his wife and three children, Frank, who lives at Wilmington, California, and Rose and John, who live at home. Deceased also is survived by three brothers, James of Spencer, Peter of Plano, Illinois, and Edward of Barnesville, Minnesota, and four sisters, Mrs. Will Kenning of Manson; Mrs. John Spellman of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. George Cox of Letcher, South Dakota and Mrs. Lester Farrand of Manson.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon of this week from the Catholic church. Interment at Rose Hill cemetery.
