OBITUARY
Fred L. Ernst was born near Sterling, Whiteside Co., Ill., June 23, 1873 and in 1877 moved to Lohrville with his parents where he resided until the fall of 1895 when he went to Rogersville, Mo., where he married Mrs. Mary McDermott. After residing at Rogersville four years Mr. ad Mrs. Ernst returned to Iowa and lived in Gowrie until about one year ago when they moved to Farnhamville where he was in partnership with E. P. Griffin in the meat market. He died at his home in Farnhamville, on Sunday January 27th of typhoid fever after an illness of nearly two months. He is sincerely mourned by his surviving relatives as a kind and dutiful son and husband and by his acquaintances as a faithful friend and a good neighbor.

The funeral services were held at the home Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. January 29. Rev. A. W. Auman officiating. The Modern Woodmen of Farnhamville took charge of the funeral. The remains were laid to rest in Lake Creek cemetery. The bereaved wife and relatives have the sympathy of the community in their hour of affliction.
