Rites Held for Charles Crouse

Charles M. Crouse of Greene died last Wednesday, July 7th at the Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City where he had been a patient for four years.

He was born October 31, 1878, to Jacob and Ann (Piddington) Crouse at Greene. On March 30, 1902, he was married to Ida Gertrude McCracken of Greene.

The couple farmed west of Greene all their married life. Mr Crouse was the recipient of a trophy from the Chicago Market for shipping cattle there for fifty consecutive years. He was also a 50-year member of the I. O. O. F.

Survivors include his wife and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one step-brother.

Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at Reid's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Darrell Fryman, pastor of the Church of the Brethren, officiating. Burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery. Reid's Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
