Rites Held for Laura Willey, 83

Mrs. Laura Willey, daughter of Mr and Mrs Jacob Crouse was born at Greene on February 5, 1877, and passed away at Marble Rock on Thursday, August 18th, having reached the age of 83 and one-half years.

She has spent her entire lifetime in this community, except for the few months as a guest in the Harris Rest Home in Marble Rock. She received her schooling in the Greene community.

On February 3, 1894, she was united in marriage to Al C. Willey at Greene. To this union two sons were born. One son, Lawrence, died in 1925 and her husband died in 1927. She has made her home with her son, Vern, since the death of her husband.

Mrs. Willey was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a 60 year member of the Rebekkah Lodge and was a Past Noble Grand Officer.

She is survived by her son, Vern Willey of Greene, three grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a brother, Charles Crouse of Greene.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at Hamilton's Funeral Chapel with Rev. G. F. Butler, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene. Hamilton's Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
