LUCY WHITE BOYLAN (1868-1939)

Mrs. W. E. Boylan, 70, Tuesday, following a long illness from heart disease and complications, nee Lucy White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George White, b. Buchanan county, Missouri, Oct. 2, 1868; family moved to Butler county, Iowa later locating on a farm in the Bristow community, as pioneers; on April 2, 1888, was married to Willis E. Boylan, of a pioneer family; resided on a farm the first 20 years of their married life, but later moved to Bristow, where they have lived the past 42 years; celebrated their golden wedding anniversary April 3, 1938; was a member of the Church of Christ, Ladies’ Aid society, Woman’s Christian Temperance Union, Order of Eastern Star; Royal Neighbors and Cemetery association and Women’s Foreign Missionary society; leaves husband, one son, Dalen, Aredale; two grandchildren: one sister, Mrs. LaVina Sheridan, Oskaloosa, and one brother, Milton White, of Minnesota; funeral Thursday at 1 o’clock from her late home and at the Church of Christ at 1:30; burial at Oak Hill cemetery, Bristow.
