Carrie Hannah Everts, age 81, of Grundy Center, formerly of Parkersburg,Iowa, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Grundy Center, Iowa, of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7 at Pleasant Valley Reformed Church, rural Holland, west of Fern, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, Iowa. Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home of Parkersburg, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.

Carrie was born February 24, 1926 in Brookings County, South Dakota, daughter of Henry and Hanna (Fischer) Bohlen. She married William "Bill" Harold Everts on January 31, 1947 at her parents home near New Hartford, Iowa. She was a farm wife and also sold Avon. Prior to her marriage she worked in Waterloo, Iowa at a corrugated box factory.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Matilda Loger and Annie Madsen; and a brother, Henry Bohlen, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; 2 sons, James (Brenda) Everts of Parkersburg, Iowa and Jeff (Janet) Everts of Waterloo, Iowa; a daughter, Janice (Larry) Duffy of Prescott, Arizona; 6 grandchildren: Corey (Sarah) Everts, Sarah (Curt) Rodgers, Andrew (Amanda) Everts, Jamie (Gabe) Nelson, Joe Everts and Jill Everts; 3 great-grandchildren, Daniel Rodgers, Isabella Nelson and Matthew Nelson; a brother, Larry Bohlen of Brighton, Iowa; 3 sisters, Dena Westendorf and Betty Aswegan, both of Parkersburg, Iowa and Maxine (David) Magedanz of Clarksville, Iowa and a brother-in-law, Harry Loger of Phoenix, Arizona.
