Margaret Everts, age 85, of Aplington, Iowa, formerly of New Hartford, Iowa, died Tuesday May 3, 2011 at the Maple Manor Care Center, Aplington. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7 at Parkersburg Christian Reformed Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, in Parkersburg, Iowa. Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.

Margaret was born November 26, 1925 on a farm in Grundy County, daughter of Jacob and Etjie (Van Westen) Westerman. On February 19, 1947, she married Fred Raymond Everts at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. He died February 3, 2002. Mrs. Everts and her husband farmed in Butler County most of their married life. She was a member of the Parkersburg Christian Reformed Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Grace Meester.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Jim M. (Carmen) Everts and Stan D. (Carla) Everts, both of New Hartford, Iowa; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and a brother Jack Westerman.
