Obituary

John B. Young was born at Quincy, Ill., August 18, 1854. He went to Kansas with his people, where he married Miss Nettie Allen, of Calhoun, Neb. To them two sons were born, Merle and James, now of Clarksville. In 1895 he married Miss Dora Rooks, of La Crosse, Ga., and to them a son, Arthur, now of Waterloo, and a daughter, Theodocia, now of Atlanta, Ga., were born. He passed away at the farm home of his son, Merle, Tuesday, April 13, 1926. Funeral services at the Methodist church by the pastor, Rev. J. S. Westfall, Thursday afternoon, with interment in Lynwood cemetery. Besides his children, he leaves seven grand-children and two sisters. He had been a resident of this community since 1908.
