Mrs. Caroline Neal, mother of J. N. Neal and Mrs. A. C. Crawford, departed this life at the home of Mrs. Crawford, Friday night, at the age of 89 years. She has for some years been living at the home of her daughter and has been sick for the past five weeks, and at her advanced age was unable to withstand the protracted sickness, and answered the last summons peacefully and quietly on the above named day. Mrs. Neal was one of the old pioneer women of the state, and one of those motherly beings who made herself endeared to all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance, but on account of being for several years unable to get about, was not well known by the younger generation of this vicinity. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church on Monday, Rev. A. A. Hallett officiating, and the remains taken to their last home in the Allison cemetery. The sympathy of the neighborhood is extended to the bereaved relatives.
