Funeral services for former rural school teacher Nettie P. McBeain were held Saturday, December 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Clarksville, Iowa with Pastor Bob Myren officiating. Burial was in Lynwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Iowa.

Nettie died Wednesday, December 9, 1987 at the age of 74 at the Allison Care Center, where she had resided for about a week. She was born July 1, 1913 in South Dakota to Ben and Pearl (Hastings) Kellison. She attended school in Iowa and graduated from Waukon High School, Waukon, Iowa. After further training she taught in several rural schools in the Waukon area. In February 1944 she married William Sheriff in New Albin, Iowa. On December 30, 1972 she remarried to Raymond McBeain at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in Clarksville, Iowa following their marriage. She had been employed as a nurse's aide at the Shell Rock Nursing Home and the Waverly Hospital before her retirement.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother Harold Kellison.

Surviving are her husband Raymond McBeain of Clarksville, Iowa; a son Ronald Sheriff of Waterloo, Iowa, 2 daughters, Mrs. Carroll (Virginia) Shatzer of Clarksville, Iowa and Mrs. Reggie (Kathryn) Phillipp of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ethel Johnson and Hazel Gullickson and a brother Donald Kellison, all of Waukon, Iowa.
