Marvel Arends, 86, of Clarksville, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the Waverly Health Center, Waverly.

She was born Feb. 4, 1924, on a farm south of Clarksville, daughter of Seiger and Anna Freese Leerhoff.

On Sept. 20, 1942, she married Orville Nordman at St. John Lutheran Church, Clarksville. He died March 21, 1963. On Aug. 25, 1984, she married Delbert Arends at St. John Lutheran Church, Charles City. He died Jan. 1, 1997.

Mrs. Arends worked on the farm.

Survived by: a son, Jimmy (Marilyn) Nordman of Clarksville; three daughters, Joyce (Charles) Bochmann, Jenise (Clayton) Kampman and Janet (Gary) Parson, all of Clarksville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Leerhoff of Clarksville; and three stepchildren.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Harland Leerhoff.

Services: were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in Lynwood Cemetery, both in Clarksville.

Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Clarksville, was in charge of arrangements.
