HOOGESTRAAT, HEERTS, PRUISNER, HAGEN, RUECKERT, JUNGLING, MARKUSSEN

Hilda Hoogestraat Heerts, 90, of Parkersburg, died Saturday, Jan. 29, at Maple Manor Village, Aplington, of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 10, 1920, at home in Pleasant Valley Township, Grundy Center, daughter of Saben and Jennie Pruisner Hagen. She married Dr. M.O. Hoogestraat on June 5, 1945. He died in 1974. She married Russell Heerts, and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Heerts graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1938, then attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She taught country school for a year in German Township No. 4, Grundy County. She then worked for the telephone company and later took a position with Parkersburg State Bank.

Survived by: two sons, Ronald (Linda) Hoogestraat of Marion and Dr. Tom (Mary) Hoogestraat of Parkersburg; a daughter, Dr. Vicki (Mike) Rueckert of Fort Collins, Colo.; a son-in-law, Del (Nancy) Jungling of Reinbeck; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a stepson, Steve (Doris) Heerts of New Hartford; and a stepdaughter, Jean (Jim) Markussen of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Delores Hoogestraat Jungling; a grandson; a great-grandson, a sister, Avis Heerts; and two brothers, Bernarr and Andrew Hagen.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg.

Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
