APLINGTON - Leonard Bertus Rewerts, 81, of Aplington, died Thursday, Dec. 2, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls of natural causes.

He was born Sept. 13, 1929, in Kesley, son of Leonard and Bessie Diekman Rewerts. He married Anna Mae Bolhuis April 6, 1955, at the Little Brown Church near Nashua.

He attended country school in Butler County. Mr. Rewerts was a member of First Reformed Church in Aplington.

Survived by: his wife; three children, Sheila (Randy) Rameyer of Ackley, Stanley Rewerts of Chester, Va., and Sandra (Michael) Larson of Woden; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Doris Rewerts of Iowa Falls and Marjorie Rewerts of Ackley.

Preceded in death by: four brothers, Johan, Harm, George and Herman; and a sister, Francis Haan.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Reformed Church, with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, both in Aplington.

Public visitation today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Redman Schwartz Funeral Chapel, Aplington, and continue for an hour before services at the church.
