REINERS, PENNING, MEINDERS, THILGES, CARD, SEVERS, SIEBERTS

DUMONT - George Reiners, 90, of Dumont, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Franklin General Hospital, Hampton.

He was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Dumont, son of Jake and Louis Penning Reiners. He married Edna Mae Meinders on Jan. 7, 1941, in Bethany, Mo.

Mr. Reiners attended Dumont Community Schools and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He worked at Community Co-op, and after retirement drove a school bus, a milk route and also worked part time for the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Dumont. He was a member of Dumont Reformed Church and was a member of the Dumont American Legion for 69 years. He was mayor of Dumont and also was on the Butler County Fair Board.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Gary (Venita) of Fort Dodge; three grandchildren, Amy (Denny) Thilges of Johnston, Randy (Sabina) Reiners of North Liberty and Terry (Emily) Reiners of Grimes; eight great-grandchildren, Lauren, Madison, Abby and Jake Thilges, Ezra, Meischa and Pryor Reiners and Grayce Reiners; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Card and Francis Meinders-Severs; and a brother-in-law, Duane (Mary Lou) Sieberts.

Preceded in death by: a son, Randy; a daughter, Cindy Reiners; and a granddaughter, Natalie Reiners.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Dumont Reformed Church, with burial in Dumont Cemetery.

Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Dumont.

Memorials: may be directed to the family in lieu of flowers.

George enjoyed dancing, bowling, reading and sports. He loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was proud to be a part of the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., back in September.
