Janette Ann Gutknecht, 69, of New Hartford, Iowa passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa of Leukemia.

Janette was born on October 14, 1937 the daughter of Louie and Marie (Kruger) Pruin in New Hartford, Iowa.

She attended and graduated from New Hartford High School in 1955. On April 9, 1958, she was united in marriage to Ernest G. Gutknecht at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hudson, Iowa. The couple made their home on the farm near New Hartford, Iowa. Janette was employed at the Cedar Falls Trust and Savings as a teller and at banks in Parkersburg and New Hartford as well as Wells Fargo before retiring from banking after 33 years on October of 1999.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was a member of the New Hartford United Methodist Church.

Survivors are her three children, Rick Gutknecht of New Hartford, Iowa, Susan Kroll of Castle Rock, Colorado and Larry (Cindy) Gutknecht of New Hartford, Iowa; three grandsons, Jason and Beau Bulmer and Mark Kroll; brother, Marlin (Sharon) Pruin of Aplington, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest on October 11, 2006.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 10:30 am at the New Hartford United Methodist Church in New Hartford, Iowa with Rev. Carolyn L. Bittner officiating.

Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in New Hartford, Iowa.

Friends may call from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday at the New Hartford United Methodist Church and one hour prior to services on Monday.

Memorials may be directed to the family. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home of Waverly, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
