Thelma E. Bandfield, 89, of Shell Rock, Iowa went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at her residence in Shell Rock, Iowa.

Thelma was born on September 2, 1917, the daughter of Robert and Augusta (Noernberg) Boehm at Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She graduated from school in Fort Wayne, Indiana. On June 8, 1945, she was united in marriage to Ralph L. Bandfield in Waverly, Iowa. The couple made their home in Shell Rock and later moved to Greene for about eight years before moving back to Shell Rock. Thelma was employed at Carnation for about 13 years.

She was a member of the Shell Rock United Methodist Church, Shell Rock UMW and the American Legion Auxiliary of Shell Rock. Thelma enjoyed cooking, baking, singing and doing crafts.

Thelma is survived by her three children, Thomas (Susan) Bandfield of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Karen (Lon) Peterson of Shell Rock, Iowa and Robert (Rhonda) Bandfield of Springfield, Missouri; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph “Bandy” Bandfield on May 2, 1987; brother, Bill Boehm and 2 sisters, Helen Boehm and Louise Felt.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Shell Rock United Methodist Church with Pastor Richard P. Layman officiating.

Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Shell Rock.

Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Shell Rock and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
