Marlyn Lorenz, 77 of Clarksville and formerly of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Community Nursing Home, Clarksville, Iowa.

Marlyn Sherburne was born May 13, 1931, the daughter of Elmer and Lena (Geerdes) Sherburne in Bremer County.

She graduated from Finchford High School with the class of 1948. On October 7, 1956, she was united in marriage to Delbert Lorenz in Harmony, Minnesota. Delbert passed away July 24, 1988. She worked as a Payroll Secretary for 25 years at Allen Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1992.

In her free time she enjoyed putting puzzles together, completing crossword puzzles, and crocheting.

Those thankful for having shared in her life include her brothers; Arlo (Lorraine) Sherburne of Waverly, John (JoAnn) Sherburne of Shell Rock, Gary (Audrey) Sherburne of Aplington, Larry Sherburne of Clarksville, Jack (Judy) Sherburne of California, sisters; Marcella (Roger) Feckers of Parkersburg, Marcia Schipper of Aplington.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Erwin Sherburne.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly.

Burial will be in the Reinbeck Cemetery, Reinbeck, Iowa.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly.

Memorials may be directed towards the family.
