Jeff Gallmeyer, age 43, of Clarksville, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, from an apparent heart attack.

Jeff was born December 17, 1964 at the Waverly Health Center, Waverly, Iowa the son of Paul and Marlys (Brandos) Gallmeyer. He was a graduate of the Clarksville High School and attended Hawkeye Community College for one year where he studied welding. From 1981 to 1985, Jeff served in both the Army and Army Reserve.

On August 28, 1992, he was united in marriage to Gena Wayne in Clarksville, Iowa. To this union three children were born. The couple later divorced. Jeff was currently employed with Universal Industries in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

In his free time, Jeff enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing guitar, both country and rock music. He had the ability to make anyone laugh and always could put a smile on your face. Perhaps his greatest joy was time spent with his family and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in infancy.

Jeff is survived by one daughter, Amanda (Tyler) Gallmeyer of Waterloo, Iowa; four sons, Jason Wayne, Gunner Gallmeyer, Grady Gallmeyer and Hunter Gallmeyer, all of Clarksville, Iowa; six brothers, Steve Gallmeyer of Waverly, Iowa, Tony Gallmeyer of Clarksville, Iowa, Danny Gallmeyer of Clarksville, Iowa, David (Kirsten) Gallmeyer of Charles City, Iowa, Matt (Traci) Gallmeyer of Allison, Iowa, Tim Gallmeyer of Clarksville, Iowa; three sisters, Molly (Bob) Phelps of Shell Rock, Iowa, Linda (Pat) Gallmeyer of Clarksville, Iowa, Ann (Bill) Ruzika of Charles City, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Private family graveside services will be held Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Lowell Cemetery in rural Clarksville, Iowa.

There will be no public visitation.
