ALLISON - Michael Dale Brown, 59, of Allison, died at home Saturday, July 10.

He was born May 16, 1951, in Le Mars, son of Dale and Elaine Brown. He married Sonna Koester in 1971, and they later divorced.

Mr. Brown graduated from Allison-Bristow in 1969. He was a city policeman in Chariton and a deputy sheriff for Lucas County. He also worked as an art technician in the marketing department at Hy-Vee. He moved to Marshfield, Mo., and held several positions in different companies, including supervisory roles. He returned to Allison in 2008.

Survived by: a son, Thomas (Stacey) of Norwalk; a daughter, Angela (Rob) of Adel; three grandchildren, Adam, Alex and Lennon; his mother of Allison; three sisters, Bernita (Ron) Norine of Fort Dodge, Jaime (Calvin) Helmus of Rock Valley and Charlene (Steve) Fink of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, Dave (Julie) of Nevada; six nephews; and two nieces.

Preceded in death by: his father; and his former wife.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church, Allison, with burial in Allison Cemetery.

Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Allison.

Mike loved sports and was an avid Hawkeye fan and especially loved the Chicago Bears and New York Yankees. He enjoyed music and was a lover of the Beatles. Mike was a loving son, father, brother and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.
