Edith Maxine Ressler, 83, of Bristow, died Saturday, July 3, Rehabilitation Center of Allison.

She was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Butler County, daughter of Fred William and Charlotte Annette Dralle Wiegman. She married Robert Rae Ressler March 10, 1946, in Allison.

Mrs. Ressler graduated from Allison High School, owned and operated the grocery store in Bristow for several years, worked at the Dumont Locker and Folkerts seed farms, before going to Allison-Bristow schools as a cook for 19 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Allison.

Survived by: her husband, of Allison; three daughters, Kathryn Mary Ressler of Cedar Falls, Doris Jeanne (Keith) Rindels of Montezuma and Ann Elizabeth (Ross) Grafft of Osage; six grandchildren, Robert (Erin) Rindels, Missy (Curt) Roach, Ryan (Carrie) Grafft, Randi (Kara) Grafft, Ranae (Grant) Norland and Reese Grafft; seven great-grandchildren, Austin and Tyler Rindels, Bailey, Garret and Madison Roach, Robert Grafft and Gabriel Grafft; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Shultz.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, James Wiegman; and a brother-in-law, Roger Shultz.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church, Allison, with burial in Allison Cemetery.

Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Allison.

She loved the work and the kids at Allison-Bristow schools. She enjoyed fishing in Canada, gardening, flowers and operating a home coffee shop (free) for many friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed attending auctions and collecting glassware and crafts.
