Mata L. Boveia

Mata Lucille Boveia, 82, of Hillsboro, Tex., died Sunday, May 24 at a Hillsboro hospital of a sudden heart attack.

She was born on March 17, 1916, in Shell Rock, the daughter of Charles and Elsie Boers Walters. She grew up and attended Schools in Iowa.

On Oct. 10, 1932, she married Wayne Boveia in Galena, Ill. He retired from Crown Zellerback, and the couple moved to Whitney, Tex., where they lived for 17 years, moving to Hillsboro in 1993.

Survivors include her husband of Hillsboro; a son and his wife, Russell and Frances Boveia of Plancentia, Calif.; a sister, Janet Johnson of Clarksville; two grandchildren, Scott Boveia of Yorba Linda, Calif.; and Kristina Best of Anaheim, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held tonight (Thursday) from 6 to 7 p.m. at Edens Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Tex. Local graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at Harlingen Cemetery, Waverly, with Pastor Oliver Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation in Waverly. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, is in charge of arrangements.
