MRS ADELINE CORELL

Mrs. Adeline Corell, 87, Shell Rock, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 25 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Waverly where she had been a patient for five days.

She was born on June 7, 1887 at the home of her grand-parents in Sand Springs, the daughter of Eugene and Julia Wood Leavens. They lived in the Shell Rock area where she attended country school and graduated from Shell Rock high school in 1905. She attended College at Ames, and later taught for a short time in the Shell Rock area.

On April 4, 1915 she was married in Waterloo to John Corell, who preceded her in death in May 1919. She then moved back to the Shell Rock area until 1925 when she moved to Waverly. In 1945 she made her home with her daughter in Plainfield. One and one-half years ago she became a resident of the Allison Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waverly and a member of the D.A.R.

Mrs Corell was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Roger in infancy, two brothers, Charles and Carl; one sister, Ethel and one grandson.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mary Woodring of Plainfield; one son, Arnold Corell of Nora Springs; one brother, Bain Leavens of Shell Rock, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Shell Rock at 10:30 a.m. with burial in Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids at 2:30 p.m. The Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Shell Rock is in charge of the arrangements.
