Last Rites Held for Mrs. Frank KNAPP

Funeral Services Held Tuesday Morning – Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Following an illness since Decoration day, Mrs. Frank KNAPP passed away on Sunday, August 2, 1936, at the advanced age of 80 years, two months and twenty-five days.

Amanda Margaret PAYETTE was born at Kingston Mills, Ontario, Canada, May 7, 1856, coming here at the age of 12, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Prime PAYETTE.

She was married to Frank KNAPP of Waverly, September 2, 1878. The first few years of their married life was spent at Rockford, later coming to Greene, which place has since been their home. This union was blessed with five children, Louise SCHERMERHORN, Barnesville, Minn.; Elizabeth ZELLER, Fortine, Montana; Marguerite BERRY, Bristow; Joe A. KNAPP, Waterloo, and Fred KNAPP, Greene. All were here to attend the funeral services.

Surviving, besides the children and their families are two brothers and four sisters: Joseph PAYETTE, Emma CLARKE, Vine DEVEREAUX, Bena PAYETTE and Clara BOLLER, Greene, and Charles PAYETTE, Riverside, California. A brother, Frederick PAYETTE, preceded her in death last August.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Tuesday, August 4, at 9 o’clock. Father DREXLER said the Requiem Mass and Father Paul MAGUIRE, Waverly, preached the sermon. Burial was in St. Mary’s cemetery.

Mother KNAPP was dearly loved by all her neighbors and friends. Hers was a life of service and no one ever asked a favor of her in vain. May she rest in peace.
