Obituary—Mrs. Emma Burma Goddard, the youngest daughter of Mrs. Harm Burma was born near Ackley, Iowa, Aug. 18, 1898. With her parents, she came to Bristow in her early childhood. After graduating from Bristow high school, she took a short course at the State Normal, after which she taught school for several years.

On the eleventh day of last August she was united in marriage to Milton W. Goddard, making their home in Bristow.

After a brief illness she passed away on the 21st day of December. After the funeral services which were conducted by her former pastor, Rev. A. Wubbena of Peoria, Ill., assisted by the W. N. Roush of the local U. B. church, burial took place in the Washington Township cemetery.

Mrs. Goddard was an active member of the Reformed church and an efficient worker in the Sunday school. She was also a member of the May Day chapter of the O. E. S. at Greene, and a member of the Bethany Shrine, Cedar Falls. She took an active part in all local educational, social and political activities.

She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband, her mother, three brothers, Rev. Joseph H. of Waxahachie, Texas, Benjamin and Henry, and Mrs. Joe Kramer, Mrs. Henry Busma of Bristow, and Mrs. Geo. Claassen, of Dumont.
