K. D. Rose Died At Bristow—Funeral Probably Will Be Held Thursday From The Home—On Tuesday afternoon at about 4 o’clock our good friend K. D. Rose left us, to find repose in a better world. Mr. Rose, “Ken” to hundreds of friends all over this section of the country, had been ill for a long time, and his recovery had been long since been despaired of. Great was his suffering, but he bore it with fortitude and was grateful for the loving care which his family and friends gave him. Bristow has lost one of its finest citizens, and we have all lost a good friend.

Kenneth D. Rose was born in Chesterville, Dundas county, Ontario, Canada, May 12, 1866, and passed away at his home at Bristow November 10, 1936, aged 70 years, 5 months and 28 days.

He came to the United States in 1882 with Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sproul, with whom he lived after the death of his mother in 1877. They located near Greene, Iowa.

November 25, 1895, he was united in marriage with Martha J. Minert. They lived on a farm near Aredale for 12 years, and moved to Bristow 29 years ago.

Mr. Rose has been identified with various business interests of the town and has held many offices of trust both in school and municipal affairs. For some years prior to his passing he had been estranged in the real estate business.

Surviving are the widow and four daughters: Marie, Mrs. Lloyd Jones of Cedar Falls; Eileen, Mrs. Everett Appleby of Waterloo; Helen, Mrs. Earl Pitcher of Detroit, Mich., and Gilberta, Mrs. James Brooks of Waterloo. Three grandchildren also survive.

Funeral arrangements are not complete at this time, pending word from distant relatives, but tentative plans are for Thursday afternoon at the home, Rev. G. W. Beadle in charge. Interment will probably be at Hampton.
