Mrs. W. N. Roush Is Dead; Wife or Retired Minister-Funeral Services at 2 Thursday at Waterloo.
Cedar Falls- Mrs. W. N. Roush, 77, 2526 Rainbow drive, Cedar Heights, died early Tuesday of carcinoma at Sartori Memorial hospital.
As Mary Emma Keller, she was born in Clearfield county, Pennsylvania, May 14, 1865, and three years later moved with her parents to southern Wisconsin. Later the family moved to Stephenson county, Illinois, near Rock Grove.
In 1883 she was married to W. N. Roush at Niabraira, Neb. They entered a homestead in Antelope county, Nebraska, remaining seven years, during which Mr. Roush received a license to preach.
Served Nebraska Charge- They were sent to Cedar county, Nebraska and remained in that charge five years, then spent a year in Bureau county, Illinois. Later they came to Iowa and Mr. Roush attended Western college at Toledo and after two years was appointed to the Bristow United Brethren church.
Mrs. Roush served as state president of the Woman’s Missionary society for eight years, and was director of choirs in the various charges served by Rev. Mr. Roush.
The couple moved to Cedar Heights 12 years ago, and they had since held membership in Graves Memorial United Brethren church in Waterloo. Rev. Mr. Roush is retired.
Leaves Husband, Daughter- Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Seufferlein, Cedar Falls; a sister, Mrs. Rosa Peck, Coleridge, Neb.; one brother, Frank Keller, Nehigh, Neb., and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Graves Memorial United Brethren church in Waterloo. The body is at the Dahl funeral home.
