Lawrence Jepperson was born in Denmark, January 2, 1849. He came to America in 1866. He was married to Margaret Ann Corwin January 20, 1876. To this union were born eight children, Mrs. Mable A. Hersey, William L. Jepperson, David L. Jepperson, Mark L. Jepperson, Charles R. Jepperson, Mrs. Hazel Cachelin and Mrs. Vernelia Small.
The deceased leaves 25 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. His wife and one daughter preceded him in death. He was a member of the Baptist church of New Hartford, Iowa for many years.
He had been in failing health for some time and for a little more than a week had been confined to his bed. The end came gently and he fell asleep October 15, 1921, aged 72 years, 6 months and 13 days.
Funeral services were conducted from the Baptist church Monday afternoon, Rev. Essex officiating. Interment was made at Oak Hill.
