Cynthia "Cindy" Molgaard, age 63, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at the North Lake Manor in Storm Lake.

Cindy Schuler was born June 11, 1949, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Tom and Pat Belcher Schuler. As an infant, she was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake where she was later confirmed.

Growing up, she attended school in Alta, graduating from Alta High School in 1967. Following high school, she attended The University of Northern Iowa and Buena Vista College.

On June 5, 1969, Cindy married Gary Molgaard at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. They were blessed with two children, Jennessa and Peter.

A lifetime member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Cindy also served on the board for Habitat for Humanity, volunteered for the Lupus Foundation, and happily lent a helping hand to anyone in need. A master gardener, she also loved to bake for her family and friends. She treasured spending time with her family the most and especially enjoyed traveling to New England to see her children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her parents, Tom and Pat Schuler, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her children: Jennessa (Sajid) Durrani, of Andover, Massachusetts, and Peter (Erin) Molgaard, of Quincy, Massachusetts; her grandchildren: Zain and Mir Durrani; her brothers, Steve (Rose Ann) Schuler, of Urbandale, Iowa, and Shane (Jonna) Schuler, of Bettendorf, Iowa; her sisters, Barb (Ed “Skoog”) Anderson, of Alta, Iowa, Patti (Jon) McKenna, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Mindy Demers, of Tunas, Missouri, and Kelly (Rod Snavely) Schuler, of Des Moines, Iowa; fourteen nieces and nephews; and ten great nieces and nephews; as well as extended family and friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herman and Kate Schuler and Cal and Rose Belcher; and an infant brother, John.

Visitation: 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 3:30 p.m., August 10, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., August 11, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. Vigil Service: 7:00 p.m., August 10, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa. Interment: August 11, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa.
