Erland R. Anderson
December 10, 1892 - February 20, 1978

Erland Ruben Anderson, the oldest child of August and Tilda Anderson, was born on December 10, 1892, in Marathon. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed on April 12, 1908 in Ljunghed Lutheran church by Rev. C. E. Olsson. A member of Our Savior's Lutheran church when he farmed near Albert City, he moved to the Pleasant View Home in December, 1969.

Mr. Anderson entered Buena Vista county hospital on February 14, 1978, and died there on February 20, 1978, at the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 10 days.

Survivors include a brother, Oscar, of Laurens; his sister, Hildur (Mrs. C. O. Youngberg), of Albert City, his sister-in-law, Mrs. Oscar Anderson, of Laurens, his brother-in-law, George T. Anderson, of Sioux Rapids; three nieces, Adelean Youngberg, of Albert City, Mrs. Kenneth Tansor, of Rockton, Illinois, and Mrs. Dwane Netsch, of Laurens; three nephews, Lee Anderson, of Pella, Dennis Anderson, of Laurens, and Kenneth Anderson, of Vancouver, Washington; and his housekeeper, Mrs. Edith S. Pearson, of Albert City.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; three sisters, Hulda and Stella Anderson and Anna (Mrs. George Anderson), and his brother-in-law, C. O. Youngberg.

The funeral service was in Our Savior's Lutheran church, Albert City, on February 23, 1978, at 1:30 p.m., Pastor Donald L Anderson officiating. The organist was Mrs. Gene McLaughlin, the vocalist, Samuel Aronson. Flowers were in care of Mrs. Ernest Johnson and Mrs. Gil Grosch. Pallbearers were Dennis Anderson, Dwane Netsch, Tom Peterson, Lee Anderson, Terry Pearson, and Martin Anderson. Burial was in the Fairfield cemetery with arrangements by the Sliefert funeral home of Albert city.
