January 22, 1927 - February 12, 2015Marjorie Johnson, age 88, of Albert City, Iowa, died on February 12, 2015, at Pleasant View Home in Albert City.
Marjorie Mae Pierson, a daughter of John V. and Jesse (Jones) Pierson, was born near Storm Lake, Iowa, on January 22, 1927. Baptized and confirmed at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City, she received her education at the Lincoln Lee Township School, graduating with the Class of 1944.
On September 18, 1948, Marge married Donald Paul Johnson in Jackson, Minnesota. They were, subsequently, blessed with five children: Howard, Brian, Jeffery, Gail, and Tom. They spent their married lives in Albert City where Don owned and operated an electrical and plumbing business, and Marge was a devoted wife and mother to her family.
A lifelong member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, she, also, belonged to the Ladies Aid Society for many years. In addition, she loved sharing in her family’s lives and following all of their activities. Her special interests included knitting, playing cards, playing the piano, and bird watching.
Marge’s life is lovingly remembered and cherished by her family which includes her husband of sixty-six years, Donald, of Albert City, Iowa; her children: Brian (Karen) Johnson, of Albert City, Iowa, Gail Johnson, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Tom (Terry) Johnson, of Treynor, Iowa; her grandchildren: Allison (Jeff) Emery; Jeff (Sarah), Joe (Angie), Kyle, Lexanne, Michelle, and Susan Johnson; and Jennifer (Trey) Karlen; her great grandchildren: Mitchell, and Victoria Emery; Damian, Devon, Dorrian, Eli, Kaylee, Kassie, and Micah Johnson; and her sister, Lucille Skog, of Albert City, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jeffery, in infancy; her son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Lisa Johnson; her brother, John Pierson; and four sisters: Hazel Pierson, Lela Braaks, Alice Lawson, and Ruth Dahlstrom.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 16, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albert City. Burial will take place in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 15, 2015, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.
