Marcella "Marci" Kramer
February 2, 1929 - February 13, 2015Marcella "Marci" Kramer, age 86, of Nemaha, Iowa, formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015, at North Lake Manor in Storm Lake.
A daughter of Henry and Martha (Berends) Behrends, Marcella was born on February 2, 1929, on a farm near Parkersburg, Iowa. Growing up, she attended school in Stout, Iowa.
In September of 1951, Marcella married Paul Kramer in Allison, Iowa. They were, subsequently, blessed with two daughters, Deb and Paula, and one son, Kim.
Marcella worked as a Certified Nurses Aid at Buena Vista Manor in Storm Lake and also for the Lutheran Services Home.
She enjoyed volunteering for the ESL program in Storm Lake and at the Moose Lodge as well as serving as a crossing guard for the Storm Lake schools. In her younger years, she enjoyed spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens. Moreover, she liked canning the vegetables from her garden. Never known for sitting still, she led an active life. She will be remembered as a people person, who loved spending time with her family and friends above all else. She will, indeed, be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Deb Kramer, of Nemaha, Iowa, Paula Sweet, of Baudette, Minnesota, and Kim Kramer, of Nemaha, Iowa; her grandchildren, Grayson Lloyd Sharp, Tesa Lynn Kramer, and James Paul “JP” Sweet; and her brother-in-law, Roger (Lori) Kramer; as well as extended family members and friends.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; her sisters, Frances Grove, Norma Junker, Ramona Aswegan; and her nephew, Daniel Kramer.
A Time of Remembrance will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2015, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
