Patricia A. Patten, age 79, of Alta, Iowa, died on Friday, November 30, 2018, at her home in Alta.

A daughter of Paul and Alice (Evans) Willfong, Pat was born on May 25, 1939, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Growing up, she attended school in Newell, graduating from Newell High School in 1957. Next, she attended Buena Vista University and Western Iowa Tech Community College where she earned her nursing degree. On August 18, 1957, she married Neil Patten at the United Methodist Church in Newell. Together, they were blessed with five children: Brenda, Terry, Jolene, Janeen, and Allen. A member of Iowa Quilters Guild; Quilt Sew-ciety, and Quilt Batts, she owned and operated the Quilt Shoppe in Alta for many years. A member of the United Methodist Church in Alta, she served on the Advisory Board.

In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, reading, and listening to music. She included quilting and sewing among her favorite pastimes. Indeed. she treasured making special quilts for her family and friends. She treasured the members of her family, and she loved spending time with them. Undoubtedly, all who knew and loved her will, deeply, miss her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Neil Patten, of Alta, Iowa; her children: Brenda (Steve) Bradley, of Sioux City, Iowa, Terry (Steve) Brashears, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Allen (Michelle) Patten, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her grandchildren: Jen (Adam) Preston, of Sioux City, Iowa, Justin (Torri) Bradley, of Sioux City, Iowa, and Annie and Trevor (Brittney) Bradley, of Sioux City, Iowa, Taylor Bradley, of Sioux City, Iowa, Ali (Austin) Langel, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Jared (Melanie) Brashears, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Zachary Brashears, of Ames, Iowa, Tyler (Kari) Patten, of Webster City, Iowa, Brandon Patten, of Ames, Iowa, and Halle Patten, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her great grandchildren: Kade and Kole Preston; and Cameron, Cruz, Raelee, and Rayden Bradley; her sisters-in-law: Ruth Hoferman and Joyce and Darlene Patten; her brother-in-law, Doug Patten; as well as extended family members and many friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Alice Willfong; and two infant daughters, Jolene and Janeen Patten.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Alta. Visitation will take place Monday, December 3, 2018, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in ALTA. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Alta is in charge of the arrangements.
