Panh Khamtan
June 15, 1937 - April 28, 2018

Panh Khamtan, age 80, of Storm Lake, died on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

A son of Thim Khamtan and La, Panh Khamtan was born on June 15,1937, in Laos. Before immigrating to the United States, he served in the Laotian Army as an officer. On December 15, 1962, he married Vilaythong Anouluck in Vientiane, Laos.

In his spare time, Panh enjoyed watching Thai kickboxing, visiting the Temple, and socializing. Panh would, often, relax enjoying the company of his friends and family. He will be, deeply, missed by all who knew and loved him.

Panh is survived by his children: Thongkham (significant other, Jindasuk Xayyavong) and Thongkhun (Khit Syhavong) Khamtan; Somchay (Nanmi Mi) and Viengvilay (Phetsamone) Khamtanh; and Lanoy (Ki) Maloutaphong, all of Storm Lake, Iowa; Pathoumma (Keo) Phrommany, of Burnsville, Minnesota; and Sommai Boontanom, of Thailand; his brother, Ponh Khamtan of Laos; his sister, Som Khamtan, also of Laos; eighteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Panh was preceded in death by his wife, Vilaythong; his parents, Thim and La; his daughter, Lutda; an infant son, Vannah; and three sisters.

Traditional Buddhist Rites will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will follow on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at 8:00 a.m. at the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 4, 2018, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
