Cleora Parris passed away on December 1, 2017, in Story City, Iowa. Born in Alta, Iowa, to Albert and Amy (Van Cleve) Hansen on December 3, 1918, Cleora grew up on a farm south Linn Grove and graduated from Highview Consolidated School and Buena Vista College. After completing her education, she taught junior high school at Ware, Iowa.

On March 30, 1941, Cleora married Francis Parris of Laurens, Iowa. Their union was blessed with three children, Albert, Loris, and Elaine. They lived on a farm west of Rembrandt, Iowa, until they retired and moved to Storm Lake in 1981. An active member of Center Grove Evangelical Free Church, she, very actively, participated in several other community organizations. Francis and Cleora enjoyed nineteen winters in Bradenton, Florida. In 2007, she moved to Story City to be nearer to her family.

She was preceded in death by Francis, her husband of sixty-one years; her parents; and two brothers, Lowell and Edwin Hansen. To mourn her passing, she leaves her children: Albert (Leanne) Parris, of Fort Dodge, Loris (Leroy) Pfaltzgraff, of Gorerville, Illinois, and Elaine (Nick) Pauly, of Ankeny, Iowa; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Kathy and Marvis Hansen, both of Storm Lake; as well as by a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Cleora Parris, 98, of Story City, formerly of Storm Lake, will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 11:00 AM at the Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake with Pastor James Roland officiating. Burial will follow in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery, Storm Lake. Visitation will take place Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Fort Dodge are in charge of arrangements.
