Glenice Koth
July 11, 1935 - December 1, 2017

Glenice Koth, age 82, of Holstein, Iowa, and formerly of Marcus, Iowa, and Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Center in Holstein.

Glenice Koth was born on July 11, 1935, in Schaller, Iowa, to Art and Dorothy (Anderson) Wilson. She attended school in Schaller. On May 16, 1954, she married George Koth at the United Methodist Church in Schaller, Iowa, and in short order, they became the busy parents of five children. The family resided in Lawton, Iowa, for a number of years before George and Glenice purchased the Marcus News in 1971. Then, Glenice, quickly, teamed up with her husband as the bookkeeper and co-editor to provided the town with their weekly news for numerous years. Having decided to enjoy their retired life, George and Glenice sold their business in 1996. Now, Glenice could focus more on her passions: gardening, tending to her yard, frequenting garage sales, decorating her home, and visiting with friends over a good cup of coffee. In addition, throughout the years, they enjoyed traveling, dancing, entertaining in their home, and spending time at their cabin in Spirit Lake.

Glenice is survived by her sons, Dan Koth, of Texas, and David Koth, of Iowa; her nine grandchildren: Albert, Alicia, Ashlie, Chris, Emily, Frederick, Missy, Nick, and Tony; several great grandchildren; and her sisters: Cheryl, of Schaller, Doreen, of Storm Lake, and Margie, of Ida Grove; as well as by numerous other relatives and friends. Preceding Glenice in death are her husband, George; her parents, Art and Dorothy; her daughters, Terri and Angela; her son, Tom; and her sisters, JoAnn and Bonnie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will take place during the hour before the service at the funeral home. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
